Twenty-nine distributors joined Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), the No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems, in Oranjestad, Aruba, for the 2014 International Distributor Conference. The annual event, held this year from November 3 to 6 at the Renaissance Hotel, allows Mitsubishi Electric to honor its distributors and celebrate the continued success of ductless and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning systems in the international market.

"We're pleased to bring our distributors together to honor their contributions," says Reynaldo Benzor, international business unit director, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division. "We recognize the important role that our distributors play, and realize that these long-term partnerships are essential to our continued success and growth in the market."

The theme for this year's international conference was "Building a Better Business." According to Benzor, the theme reflects Mitsubishi Electric's commitment to providing a strong foundation for its distributors, as well as its dedication to developing the best products possible.

The four-day conference included an overview of residential and commercial sales that occurred over the last year, in addition to several presentations by top-level executives. Presentations focused primarily on current and future branding and advertising initiatives to promote and grow business in the international market. In addition, conference attendees were asked to participate in group discussions and breakout sessions aimed at creating new strategies and initiatives.

The International Distributor Conference concluded by honoring those distributors whose performance surpassed expectations throughout the past year. The prestigious International Business Unit Distributor of the Year Award, which recognizes the organization that has outperformed all others in market development, sales and service levels, was awarded to MPG & Asociados, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Two distributors received the 2014 Superior Sales Award: MPG & Asociados and INELEC Ingenieria y Proyecto Electricos, Honduras. Additionally, the 2014 Innovation Award was given to Pro-Tec Mechanical Contractors, Oranjested, Aruba, for outstanding advancements in customer service and sales.

Recipients of the 2014 Quota Buster Award were:

"We're humbled that our distributors see the value in our product offering and continue their commitment to us year after year," said Benzor. "This event is our chance to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication to Mitsubishi Electric."
