Élan Hotel
The Élan Hotel (Élan), a part of the Greystone Hotel family, is consistently ranked as one of the top five hotels in Los Angeles. Guests rave about its personal touches and modern look, as well as the comfort they experience relaxing after a long day of shopping in all of the nearby stores. For years, though, the hotel experienced comfort issues that challenged its ability to provide a truly extraordinary stay for every guest. Those issues were solved by installing a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system from Mitsubishi Electric.
Domsey Project
The Domsey Project represents a new era of HVAC in Brooklyn, New York. The first big development in the Williamsburg area, this 280,000-square-foot condo development houses 159 families across eight buildings. It’s high-end and high-efficiency, attracting a lot of attention. Its success is due in part to Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems from Mitsubishi Electric which have offered true zoning and comfort control to the development’s many families.
Brannon Gardens
As homeowners settle into their houses in Brannon Gardens, a new condo development in the suburbs of Lexington, Kentucky, they will come to know reliable, year-round comfort. They won’t know that achieving that comfort initially created a significant challenge for developer and builder William “B” Frye of Frye Custom Builders, Nicholasville, Kentucky. It was a challenge that plagued people for multiple months until it was solved with Diamond Comfort Systems™ from Mitsubishi Electric. Now homeowners’ comfort is assured —good news for them. That’s also good news for Frye as he expands the development from a dozen to 250 homes over the next few years —all cooled and heated exclusively with Mitsubishi Electric products.
Boathouse District
In the early 2000s, the Oklahoma River was dammed up as part of the MAPS community improvement initiative. The project not only accomplished its goal, but set the stage for a vibrant riverside filled with attractions and stunning architecture. The Oklahoma City (OKC) Boathouse District is central to that vibrancy, with six buildings offering athletic training facilities, event spaces, activities for children and adults, and more. With such a wide range of cooling and heating needs across its six buildings, it’s no surprise that the five newest Boathouse District buildings use Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) from Mitsubishi Electric.
The New American Home® (TNAH) 2018
Since 1984, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), in partnership with a leading residential building trade publication, has sponsored The New American Home (TNAH) project. A concept home that makes its debut each year at The International Builders’ Show (IBS), this year’s TNAH is a 6,600-square-foot home in Montverde, Florida’s Bella Collina Golf Community. With strict energy-efficiency guidelines, the builder utilized Zoned Comfort Solutions® from Mitsubishi Electric to secure a variety of green certifications including EPA’s ENERGY STAR® and Indoor airPLUS programs.
Good Haus
When Mela Breen and David Good designed and built their own high-performance home in Nevada City, California, they aimed to find harmony between aesthetics and performance. The result was “Good Haus,” a play on David’s name and Passivehaus. Good Haus is projected to reach zero-net energy thanks in part to its use of Mitsubishi Electric Zoned Comfort Solutions®.
Woodland Grove Pocket Neighborhood
Woodland Grove is a pocket neighborhood developed by Paragon Group, a Nashville-based home builder that specializes in energy-efficient, high-quality homes. The homes are 1,100 and 1,800 in square footage and include an open main floor, a live-in kitchen and two to three bedrooms upstairs: perfect for a hybrid application of ductless and ducted Zoned Comfort Solutions® from Mitsubishi Electric. The result has been happy homeowners and energy-efficient comfort obtained at a first cost that is competitive with conventional unitary systems and minimal, given the value and performance of Zoned Comfort Solutions.
Minnesota Power
After several years of failing compressors, humidity issues and frigid winters, Minnesota Power’s Cloquet, Minnesota office was ready for an HVAC upgrade. As staff pride themselves on promoting energy-efficient technologies and money-saving programs for their customers, they turned to CITY MULTI® from Mitsubishi Electric with Hyper-Heating INVERTER® (H2i®) technology. The result has been a comfortable and efficient office place, not matter the weather. The utility company has even been able to use their equipment as a showpiece for the benefits of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems.
Cloverleaf Court
Plans for a new development of six energy-efficient, high-performance homes in Victor, Idaho, called for HVAC systems that could hold up against cold, northwest winters without compromising efficiency. The project team utilized Zoned Comfort Solutions® from Mitsubishi Electric paired with kumo cloud® wireless interfaces to offer homeowners comfort, control and cost savings.
